Test lino cut:
Favourite print.
For these tests I used all the tools in my kit which were a variety of different shaped blades numbered 1 - 10. You can see the shapes more clearly in my Project 5 notes.
Task 2 (Project 6) -
These are my favourite prints from Project 6, each have a different colour, two are printed on Zerkall paper and the last is Winsor and Newton cartridge paper.
Task 3 (Project 7) -
These are my three lino blocks printed in a single colour each:
1.
2.
3.

Re-print Lino 3 after cutting:
After doing many prints, I realised my no. 3 lino block needed to be cut a bit more in certain areas, so after doing this and re-printing I made a new single colour print to show the difference even though it's only a small difference it made the next prints much cleaner.
Reflection:
This part of the course has taught me a lot about preparation, taking it slow when making the design and also when printing. There were times I would get frustrated with the prints not aligning and the more I rushed the worse it was. Taking a break and coming back to it slowly and calmly made a big difference and I then was able to produce prints I was happier with. Experimenting with different colours has been fun for me, I really enjoyed using the brighter, bold colours and feel they give my work more personality.
I made a huge amount of prints for this section of the course and I hope the practice will pay off in the next part.
