Reflection:
Monoprinting has been a challenging experience, having never done monoprinting before and learning how to use the materials and tools for the first time was daunting. I was quite nervous at first because I didn't feel confident in what I was doing but the repetitive practise has really helped with that and I feel a bit more confident in this technique. I do need to improve my coverage of the ink on the plate and also lining up the paper better but overall I feel like I have met the briefs and experimented with the different techniques to the best of my ability. I did have a struggle with the back drawing and didn't produce a very good print but I tried the technique and attempted to add it to my multi mask print of the fruits without much success.

Using my sketchbook for early development of my ideas really helped me, especially when choosing colour combinations. I've taken my time with drawing my designs for the masks and carefully cut them out. Colour has been a huge influence for me and I've enjoyed experimenting with bright, bold colours for each of the projects. Mixing colours was a fun experience and resulted in some lovely colour palettes.

Under taking the research of a range of artists during these projects has given me real insight into how still life subjects can be more than just the objects themselves. It has opened my mind to consider a far deeper approach and introduced me to the vastness of style within this genre over the years. I've learnt a lot through this research and am looking forward to developing my own art work further.
